AdBlue
What is AdBlue?
AdBlue is a mix of urea and deionized water that is sprayed into the exhaust system of diesel engines, helping to reduce nitrous oxide emissions. The AdBlue is stored in a separate tank on the vehicle and from there is dosed automatically into the exhaust gas, as required to the amount of Nitrous Oxides (NOx) being produced by the engine.
How Does It Work?
To comply with Euro 6 regulations, all newer diesel engines use SCR technology to inject tiny quantities of AdBlue into the car’s exhaust gases. When this solution combines with exhaust emissions, it breaks down the harmful mono-nitrogen oxides in diesel exhaust.
